After breakfast, visit Wat Sene, the oldest monastery in Luang Prabang, before continuing to the magnificent Wat Xieng Thong, considered the finest example of traditional Lao temple architecture. Admire its exquisite rooflines and the famous “Tree of Life” mosaic crafted from coloured glass.

Next, board a traditional boat for a leisurely cruise upstream along the mighty Mekong River, enjoying picturesque views of rural villages, forested hills, and riverside life.

Your destination is the renowned Pak Ou Caves, one of Laos’ most important pilgrimage sites. Hidden within two limestone caverns overlooking the Mekong, the caves house thousands of Buddha statues left by pilgrims over centuries.

Along the way, stop at several traditional villages:

• Ban Xang Hai, famous for its locally distilled Lao rice whisky (Lao Lao).
• Ban Xiengmene, located across the Mekong, offering insight into traditional village life.
• Ban Chan, well known for its centuries-old pottery craftsmanship.

In the afternoon, continue to Ban Xang Khong and Ban Xieng Lek, villages celebrated for their handmade Saa (mulberry bark) paper and traditional silk weaving.

Return to Luang Prabang in the late afternoon.

Early risers may choose to witness the Tak Bat ceremony—Luang Prabang’s centuries-old morning alms-giving tradition, where hundreds of saffron-robed monks silently collect offerings from local residents. After breakfast, travel into the countryside, visiting local ethnic minority villages to learn about their traditional lifestyles and customs.

Continue to the breathtaking Kuang Si Waterfalls, one of Laos’ most iconic natural attractions. Surrounded by lush tropical forest, the cascading turquoise pools provide opportunities for swimming, relaxing, or walking along scenic forest trails to various viewpoints.

On the return journey, visit Ock Pop Tok – Living Crafts Centre, a beautifully designed cultural centre dedicated to preserving traditional Lao textile arts. Overlooking the Mekong River, the centre offers fascinating demonstrations of silk weaving, natural dyeing, and handicraft production. Guests may also relax at the riverside café while enjoying panoramic views of the river.

Before returning to your hotel, stop at Wat Siphouthabath to admire the peaceful riverside atmosphere as the sun sets over the Mekong.

Continue to the lively Morning Market, where local residents gather to trade fresh produce, regional delicacies, spices, teas, handicrafts, and hill-tribe textiles—offering an authentic glimpse into everyday life in Luang Prabang.

Depending on your departure schedule, enjoy some free time to explore the town at your own pace, relax at a café, or browse the boutique shops before your transfer to Luang Prabang International Airport for your onward flight.
