Nestled between the Mekong and Nam Khan Rivers, the city is renowned for its golden temples, French colonial architecture, vibrant markets, and remarkably peaceful atmosphere.
This afternoon, begin your discovery of Luang Prabang with visits to Wat Visoun, the city’s oldest surviving temple, followed by Wat Aham and Wat Mai, both important spiritual landmarks with distinctive Lao architectural features.
Later, climb Mount Phousi for panoramic views over the historic town, the Mekong River, and the surrounding mountains. The summit is one of the finest sunset viewpoints in Laos.
