After breakfast, visit Wat Sene, Luang Prabang’s oldest monastery, and the magnificent Wat Xieng Thong, considered the finest example of classical Lao temple architecture. Admire its elegant rooflines and the famous “Tree of Life” mosaic crafted from coloured glass.

Next, board a traditional boat for a leisurely cruise upstream along the Mekong River, enjoying beautiful views of rural Laos, riverside villages, and forested hills.

Your destination is the sacred Pak Ou Caves, a revered pilgrimage site consisting of two limestone caverns filled with thousands of Buddha images placed by devotees over many centuries.

Along the journey, stop at Ban Xang Hai, a village famous for producing traditional Lao rice whisky (Lao Lao). On the return cruise, observe local river life and visit Wat Longkhoun, the former royal retreat temple located on the opposite bank of the Mekong.

Return to Luang Prabang in the afternoon.

Early risers may choose to witness the Tak Bat ceremony, the centuries-old morning alms-giving ritual in which saffron-robed monks silently receive offerings from local residents. (Optional and recommended with respectful participation.)

After breakfast, visit Phosi Market, one of Luang Prabang’s largest local markets, where residents shop for fresh produce, herbs, spices, and regional delicacies.

Continue approximately 30 km into the countryside toward the spectacular Kuang Si Waterfalls.

En route, stop at the Laos Buffalo Dairy Farm, an innovative social enterprise supporting local farmers. Enjoy a guided visit including buffalo feeding, a milking demonstration, and interaction with the farm animals.

Continue through nearby ethnic minority villages, where you will gain insight into traditional rural lifestyles and the cultural diversity of Northern Laos.

Upon arrival at Kuang Si Waterfalls, take time to swim in the crystal-clear turquoise pools, relax amidst the tropical forest, or explore the network of scenic walking trails surrounding the cascading falls.

In the late afternoon, return to Luang Prabang and stop at Wat Phabath, a peaceful riverside temple and excellent spot to enjoy the sunset over the Mekong River.

After breakfast, travel approximately 15 km from Luang Prabang to an elephant conservation camp set within lush natural surroundings.

Upon arrival, receive a short orientation from the camp staff about elephant behaviour, welfare, and conservation efforts in Laos.

During your visit, you will:

You will then observe how mahouts communicate with their elephants and accompany them to the Nam Khan River for a memorable bathing experience.

Continue with an easy guided trek through the surrounding jungle along the camp’s exclusive Trail of Falls. Enjoy a freshly prepared picnic lunch in a peaceful forest setting.

After lunch, continue a short walk to Tad Sae Waterfall, where you may relax or swim in the natural pools (water levels vary seasonally).

Return to the camp by traditional Lao longboat, then transfer back to Luang Prabang in the late afternoon.

The remainder of the day is free for relaxation, spa treatments, café hopping, or further exploration of the town.

After breakfast, visit the Royal Palace Museum, once the residence of the Lao royal family. The museum houses an impressive collection of royal artefacts, religious treasures, and historical exhibits that provide valuable insight into Laos’ cultural heritage.

Continue to the lively Morning Market, where local residents gather to trade fresh produce, teas, spices, handicrafts, and hill-tribe textiles—offering an authentic glimpse into everyday life in Luang Prabang.

Depending on your departure schedule, enjoy some free time for last-minute shopping or a final stroll through the charming streets of the old town.

You will then be transferred to Luang Prabang International Airport for your onward flight.
