As the relaxed capital of Laos, Vientiane combines Buddhist traditions with French colonial charm, creating a unique atmosphere unlike any other city in Southeast Asia.

After time to refresh, begin your city tour with visits to the capital’s most important landmarks. Explore Wat Sisaket, the oldest surviving temple in Vientiane, home to thousands of miniature Buddha images, followed by Haw Phra Kaew, the former royal temple that once housed the Emerald Buddha.

Continue to the magnificent Pha That Luang, the country’s most sacred Buddhist monument and national symbol, before stopping at the iconic Patuxai Victory Monument, often referred to as the “Arc de Triomphe of Vientiane.”

This evening, enjoy a welcome dinner at a local restaurant featuring authentic Lao cuisine.
